Can I use a 10 yard dumpster to get rid of concrete, soil, or brick?
Yes! Our 10 yard dumpster is able to hold up to 5 tons of material or 10,000 pounds. This smaller dumpster size is perfect to use for the smaller remodeling projects requiring disposal of heavy concrete, soil or brick. This makes it a great concrete dumpster.
In general concrete cannot be hauled in dumpsters larger than 20 yards due to hauling weight restrictions on the road. If you have a lot of debris to get rid of we recommend renting more than one dumpster to avoid overages and ensure safe removal.
Need to figure out how much the concrete load weighs? Please see below for some tips.
The weight of concrete is calculated by the length, width and thickness of concrete slabs.
A cubic foot/yard of concrete weighs less once broken into smaller pieces due to empty spaces in the concrete.
Multiply the length by width of concrete to calculate the square footage.
Keep in mind concrete is usually poured between 3-4 inches thick
Please also note any gravel or rebar that may be a part of your project.
Working with brick removal? You may find yourself wondering “how much does this weigh?” As a generalization you should plan for approximately just over a ton (2,000lbs) per standard pallet of bricks. Our 10 yard dumpster is able to hold 5 tons of debris.
We recommend to our customersonly filling our 10 yard dumpster half-full when hauling concrete, brick or soilto avoid safety concerns and weight overages.
